Noilamgyp an Initiatory Ritual & Live Painting

JUNE 14 at 7 p.m. - Café L'Escalier

The NOILAMGYP CEREMONY, turning around the myth of Pygmalion, carries out a daring synthesis: First Nations painters transform a public figure dressed in a ceremonial robe into a work of Aboriginal art.

NOILAMGYP uses live painting as a synthesis of longstanding practices among America's First Peoples, in which traces left in the flesh accompany the most formidable metamorphoses, and modern theatrical body language in which the artist achieves self-actualization in the dazzling immediacy of performance art.
