Here, the detail shown is a puffin, rendered with an ornithologist's precision: black head and back, luminous grey cheeks decorated with a yellow rosette, white stomach, bright orange feet and its famous multicoloured beak: fire red, yellow and blue. In its breeding plumage, the puffin has certainly earned its nickname, sea parakeet.
